Differentiation as a Method of Strengthening Writer Processing (FORTHCOMING)

The processing part of writing is the act of an author internally converting sensory input and experience into a clear piece of writing, art, or object that has meaning for both creator and intended audience. Using differentiation models, this session teaches methods and suggests content to help students strengthen the processing part of writing and to become more effective communicators in any format.

Sensory Labs as Prewriting Activities (FORTHCOMING)

This activity and conference talk introduces the use of a sensory lab as a method of differentiation to initiate pre-writing for students. In it, we also explore ways to embed and address state standards for basic grammar and writing into a lab oriented activity.
